SWALA CAMP

SWALA CAMP

SWALA CAMP Overview

Sanctuary Swala is located in a secluded area of Tarangire National Park, one of the most exciting and least visited parks in the country.

In the heart of Maasai country and a remote corner of the Tarangire, in total seclusion amongst giant acacia trees and looking out beyond the flat savannah, Sanctuary Swala offers a very exclusive safari experience. The picturesque landscape is filled with ancient baobab trees, ambling elephants and birds in flight. Built to the highest eco-friendly standards, this camp has a particularly low-carbon footprint.

The exclusive Sanctuary Swala Camp lies in the shade of giant acacia trees, looking out onto the flat savannah of one of the most secluded parts of Tarangire National Park. Each of twelve spacious canvas pavilions looks out onto a popular watering hole, ensuring wildlilfe sightings from the comfort of your room. Simple yet elegant, the pavilions feature comfortable king-sized beds and plush sofas, as well as ensuite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers.

The main guest areas are set on stilts around a massive ancient baobab tree and feature open views and traditional thatched roofs. Lifted above the surrounding landscape, the dining area, lounge and library all feature exceptional views of the surrounding wildlife. A sparkling swimming pool offers a cool escape from the heat, while still looking out onto the camp’s watering hole and the wildlife it attracts. Swala Camp offers exciting game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles, guided bush walks, birdwatching as well as cultural village visits.
