SONGA CAMP

SONGA CAMP

SONGA CAMP Overview

Songa (meaning ‘to move’) is one of two migrational camps operated by Legendary Expeditions in the Serengeti National Park. These mobile camps move between four locations during different times of the year, following the Wildebeest Migration. This allows you to have front-row seats to one of nature’s greatest spectacles, no matter what time of the year you travel.

Songa moves with the Great Migration, spending July to November among the hilly outcrops of the northern Serengeti, and December to March on the grassy plains of the south. This intimate camp is privately owned and offers guests an exclusive Serengeti experience – all guests enjoy private safari vehicles and guides. Songa also provides the option of making half the camp an exclusive-use area for travellers seeking the utmost in privacy – ideal for families with children.

Although Songa comprises authentic canvas tents, you’ll be far from roughing it at this safari camp. Elegantly furnished and decorated, this camp allows you to connect with nature while not sacrificing comforts like soft linen, en suite bathrooms and gourmet meals.

Explore the Serengeti wilderness on daily game drives, guided walking safaris and spot-lit night game drives. Not only will you have the opportunity to see the Wildebeest Migration’s mega-herds, you’ll also enjoy great sightings of the Serengeti’s big predators like lion, leopard and cheetah. And cultural tourists will savour meaningful interactions with a local Maasai tribe.
